Welcome to Telcopay (“we,” “our,” or “us”). These Terms and Conditions (“Terms”) govern your access to and use of the Telcopay website, mobile application, APIs, and all related products and services available through https://telcopay.ng.
By creating an account, accessing, or using any Telcopay service, you agree to be bound by these Terms. If you do not agree with any part of these Terms, you must not use our services.
1. Eligibility
To use Telcopay, you must:
- Be at least 12+ years old or have the legal capacity to enter into a binding agreement.
- Provide accurate, complete, and current registration information.
- Comply with all applicable laws and regulations in Nigeria and any jurisdiction in which you use our services.
We reserve the right to refuse service, suspend, or terminate accounts that do not meet these requirements.
2. Our Services
Telcopay provides digital financial and payment-related services, which may include:
- Airtime and data purchases
- Utility and bill payments
- Gift card trading
- Wallet and payment services
- Digital payment processing
- Other financial technology services introduced from time to time
Some services may be provided through licensed banking, payment, or financial institution partners.
3. Account Registration and Security
You are responsible for maintaining the confidentiality of your account credentials, including your password and verification codes.
You agree to:
- Keep your login credentials secure.
- Notify us immediately of any unauthorized access or suspicious activity.
- Accept responsibility for activities that occur under your account.
Telcopay is not liable for losses resulting from your failure to protect your account credentials.
4. Identity Verification (KYC)
To comply with applicable laws, anti-money laundering (AML), and counter-terrorism financing (CTF) requirements, we may require identity verification, including:
- Full legal name
- Date of birth
- Government-issued identification
- BVN, NIN, or other legally required verification details
- Proof of address
- Additional information requested by our compliance team
Failure to complete verification may result in transaction limits, account restrictions, suspension, or termination.
5. Transactions
5.1 Authorization
By initiating a transaction, you authorize Telcopay to process the transaction on your behalf.
5.2 Irreversible Transactions
Completed transactions may be irreversible. You are responsible for verifying recipient details before confirming any transaction.
5.3 Delays
Transactions may be delayed due to:
- Bank processing times
- Network failures
- Regulatory reviews
- Compliance checks
- Technical maintenance
Estimated processing times are not guaranteed.
6. Fees and Charges
Applicable fees will be displayed before a transaction is confirmed.
Telcopay reserves the right to:
- Introduce new fees
- Modify existing fees
- Change pricing structures
Changes will become effective upon publication on our platform unless otherwise required by law.
7. Gift Card Trading
Where Telcopay offers gift card trading services:
- You warrant that you are the lawful owner of any gift card submitted.
- Fraudulent, stolen, altered, or unauthorized gift cards are prohibited.
- We may reject, suspend, or investigate any suspicious transaction.
- Payment for accepted gift cards is subject to verification and fraud screening.
8. Refund Policy
Refund eligibility depends on the nature of the transaction.
Refunds may be considered where:
- A transaction fails but funds are debited.
- A duplicate payment occurs.
- A billing error is confirmed.
- Telcopay determines that a refund is appropriate.
Refunds may be processed through our banking or payment partners and may take several business days depending on the financial institution involved.
Telcopay may require supporting documentation before processing a refund.
9. Prohibited Activities
You agree not to:
- Use the platform for illegal purposes.
- Engage in fraud, money laundering, terrorism financing, or identity theft.
- Circumvent transaction limits or security measures.
- Use stolen payment instruments.
- Interfere with the operation or security of the platform.
- Attempt unauthorized access to any Telcopay system.
- Abuse promotions, bonuses, or referral programs.
We reserve the right to investigate suspicious activity and report it to relevant authorities.
10. Suspended and Restricted Accounts
Telcopay may suspend, restrict, or terminate your account if:
- We suspect fraud or unauthorized activity.
- We receive a regulatory or law enforcement request.
- You violate these Terms.
- Your account poses a security or compliance risk.
- Required verification is not completed.
During investigations, transactions may be delayed or temporarily restricted.
11. Intellectual Property
All content on Telcopay, including:
- Logos
- Trademarks
- Software
- Designs
- Graphics
- Text
- APIs
- Platform functionality
is owned by or licensed to Telcopay and protected by applicable intellectual property laws.
You may not copy, modify, distribute, reverse engineer, or exploit our intellectual property without written permission.
12. Service Availability
We strive to maintain reliable services but do not guarantee uninterrupted availability.
Services may be unavailable due to:
- Scheduled maintenance
- System upgrades
- Network outages
- Third-party service interruptions
- Events beyond our reasonable control
13. Limitation of Liability
To the maximum extent permitted by law, Telcopay shall not be liable for:
- Indirect or consequential losses
- Loss of profits
- Business interruption
- Data loss
- Delays caused by third parties
- Regulatory actions
- Force majeure events
Our total liability arising from a transaction shall generally not exceed the amount of the affected transaction, except where otherwise required by applicable law.
14. Indemnification
You agree to indemnify and hold harmless Telcopay, its directors, employees, affiliates, and partners from claims, losses, liabilities, damages, and expenses arising from:
- Your use of our services
- Your breach of these Terms
- Your violation of any law or regulation
- Fraudulent or unauthorized activity conducted through your account
15. Privacy
Your use of Telcopay is also governed by our Privacy Policy, which explains how we collect, use, store, and protect your personal information.
By using our services, you consent to the processing of your information as described in the Privacy Policy.
16. Regulatory Compliance
Telcopay operates in accordance with applicable Nigerian laws and regulations relating to digital payments, consumer protection, anti-money laundering, data protection, and financial technology services.
Where services are provided through licensed financial institution partners, additional partner terms may apply.
17. Complaints and Dispute Resolution

Where a dispute cannot be resolved amicably, it shall be subject to the laws of the Federal Republic of Nigeria and the jurisdiction of the competent courts in Nigeria.

Material changes will be published on our website or communicated through our platform.
Your continued use of Telcopay after the effective date of any updated Terms constitutes acceptance of the revised Terms.
19. Termination
You may close your account at any time by contacting support.
Telcopay may terminate or suspend your access immediately where necessary for security, legal, regulatory, or operational reasons.
Termination does not affect obligations arising before termination, including payment obligations, investigations, or legal rights.
